On Rosh Chodesh Kislev -
a month in which the heroism of the Hasmoneans is remembered,
we asked Amitai Ohayon,
a Ofakim hero,
to tell the story of the heroic battle in which he participated in Ofakim
on Shabbat Simchat Torah.
His father Moshe Ohayon (הי''ד) and his brother Eliad (הי''ד) were killed in that battle.
Thanks to their bravery, hundreds of Ofakim residents were saved.
They paid with their lives.
True Jewish heroism of self-sacrifice,
