On the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day,
the Rosh Yeshiva spoke to several hundred youths
from Kfar Ganim, Petah Tikva about "faith during the Holocaust".

Rabbi Shenvald, second generation to Holocaust survivors,

combined stories of forged faith he heard from his father Mr. Moshe,

an Aushwitz camp survivor and his late mother Nehama

who survived the Holocaust, escaping to the Tatra forests in the Carpathians.

As part of the memory of the Holocaust, we must remember

that the Holocaust was not 'hatred of others' - it was a unique hatred of Jews.

And we must remember that heroism in the Holocaust

was not only in the ability to revolt and rebel

but also in the ability to face inferno and catastrophe

and maintain a human image and not lose faith and hope.
