every month we hold a monthly review

of what was learned in the study during the month.

This week we held a summary of the monthly review.

Each member gave a lecture on one of the issues in the study

that was learned last month (TED style).

This week we held a memorial service on the 12th anniversary

of the passing of Amnon Lipkin-Shahak.

The following spoke at the memorial service: Rosh Yeshiva - Rabbi Shenvald,

Rabbi of the city - Rabbi Chikotai, 

Major General (res.), Ya Ya

Brigadier General (res.),​​ Deputy Mayor, Shlomo Passy, 

and Mrs. Tali Lipkin-Shahak.

Rabbi Shenvald spoke about the importance of remembrance in Judaism

in light of the Weekly Parashot and the importance of education to preserve memory -

as the Baal Shem Tov says:

In remembrance lies the secret of redemption


Participants of the Shahak L'Bnei Mitzva Program volunteered this week

The participants of the municipal Bar Mitzvah program - Shahak L'Bnei Mitzvah -

volunteered this week, along with their instructors,

preparing food baskets for those in need.

This day is part of a group program

designed to make the entry into adulthood

and its implications real in a world where

social responsibility and acts of kindness are needed.
