May we celebrate many more Smachot in Am Israel

image

On Thursday we were blessed with two Smachot at the Yeshiva:

in the morning, the Bar Mitzvah of the third member of a family

who celebrated his Bar Mitzvah with us.

The eldest (who is already serving in the IDF as an officer in the Armored Corps) eight years ago,

the second son five years ago.

The boy read the Torah accurately

thanks to Noam Rosenberg's (Shiur Alef) meticulous preparation.

In the afternoon we celebrated with Rabbi Maor

The Brit Milah of his son.

Members of his extended family were present,

as well as many students serving now in the army,

graduates, and of course the Yeshiva Rabbis.

In the picture is the Rosh Yeshiva's blessing for the Bar Mitzvah boy,

and a picture from the Brit Milah.

Rabbi Kook's Yortzait

Last weekend was the 42nd Yortzait - 14th of Adar 5742 - (1982)

of Rabbi Zvi Yehuda HaCohen Kook zt'l

who based his education on the two Alef: אמונה - faith and אהבה - love, and the connection between the two.

In his book he wrote about the basis of the connection

between love of Israel and love of G-d and the love of all mankind

Another Siyum Masechet, this time Bava Metzia

image

This week we got to be present in yet another Siyum Masechet, this time Bava Metzia.

All Yeshiva students participated in this Mitzvah celebration.

There is a great blessing and immense joy in this.

Every tractate that is studied illuminates reality for us in a special light,

especially in the period we are in.
